The dinner and program begin at 7:00 P.M. sharp with cocktails and social time starting at 6:15 P.M. Like many of the city's restaurants, we are offering a break to our regulars to help beat the heat -- t he cost of the dinner is $20/members & $25/guests (with a new toy donation for Children's Hospital). You can't beat this price – so we expect you to bring a friend along! Please bring an unopened new toy for Children's Hospital as we celebrate Christmas in July & we will give you $5 off!

Our special guest pre dinner speaker will be State Representative

John La Bruzzo

John LaBruzzo just completed his first term in the Louisiana Legislature, after being elected in 2003 to represent the citizens of House District 81. John will provide the club with a review if the highs and lows of the most recently completed session, and provide his insight into the upcoming state-wide elections this fall. John is an active Pachyderm Club member, and is running for re-election this October.

Actor & Businessman Roger Wilson

With 30+ years experience in the entertainment and business development arena, Roger Wilson is vested in his birthplace and the state of Louisiana . Following Hurricane Katrina, Roger formed Broadway South L.L.C. to focus his energy, ability and community ties on the development of a new cultural initiative. This performing arts and economic development platform seeks to extend the state's current film-tax credit program to the producers of live entertainment, specifically those who initiate tours in Louisiana devoted to theater, opera, dance, musical concerts and variety entertainment. Passage of the Broadway South legislation will facilitate hundreds of millions of dollars in private investment and significantly enhance the state's tourism industry. The enterprise will also encourage a new level of entrepreneurship - and the creation of more than 14,000 new jobs for those still wanting to come home following the storm. Listen to Roger speak of the trials and tribulations he faced in gaining passage of this measure through the latest session of the Louisiana Legislature, and the boom to the state economy that can be expected from growing our cultural economy.
